Appendix 2: FR28 Radio channels

The ME1 com radio control unit has 350 preset channels for 69 Swedish air bases, set by selecting the air base number and pressing one of five keys.

For example, if you want to tune the radio to the tower frequency at F10 air base (Ängelholm), turn the base selector dial to 10 and press A for tower.

If the Channel Selector is set to ALLM the keys A/C/D instead means G/F/E which are general tower and control frequencies that were active at all air fields.

When the minus key () is pressed, the frequency can be set manually with the two knobs to the left of the LED frequency display.

The FR-28 radio operated in the frequency ranges 103.000–159.975 MHz (VHF) and 225.000–339.950 MHz (UHF). In FSX, only VHF frequencies between 118.00 and 121.75 are available.

Accepting a frequency change in ATC will override the preset or manual setting.
