Flight Manual: Saab 35 Draken FSX 4.1Updated: 2014-12-22

Introduction

MISSING GRAPHIC: ../graphics/41_cover_cropped.jpg

Thank you for flying our simulation of Saab 35 Draken, the legendary Swedish jet fighter that served in four national air forces during five decades!

This document explains how to install and use version 4.1 of the Bookmark Simulations J 35J Draken for Microsoft Flight Simulator X. The FS9 version is not covered in this manual, it has its own documentation.

Features that have been added or substantially changed since version 4.0 are marked accordingly.

This is the online version of the manual, which is regularly updated (see date above). A printable pdf version can be found here. The online version is always more current than the print version.

For technical support please refer to the support forum.

Please Read The Fine Manual

This is a complex simulation of an old fighter jet, and quite different from most other Flight Simulator aircraft when it comes to instrumentation and controls. Most of the instruments and switches in the cockpit are labeled in Swedish, and they are not always intuitive as to their function. You are strongly recommended to read through this document before your first flight.

This document contains descriptions of all the simulated components and systems in the current version. Some systems and functions that are not simulated are described anyway, generally because they are visible in the cockpit or referenced in some way.

Please bear in mind that this is in no way intended to be a full or accurate description of the real aircraft.

Document anatomy

The Flight Manual contains information about installation, descriptions of the model, textures and special effects, a comprehensive system description, and procedures for operation.

At the end of the document is an Appendix section containing technical data, radio frequency tables, check lists, and a short glossary translating the Swedish instrument panel labels into English.

Special font styles and colors, graphical elements, and admonitions such as warnings and notes are used throughout this documentation to indicate special content:

Ctrl-D / Left-click

Key sequence or mouse action on your PC.

Toggle Gear

Menu command or other action in Flight Simulator.

TILL

Label of an instrument or control in the cockpit.

ELFEL

A warning light or indicator on the instrument panel.

Installation

Bookmark Simulations

Link to a website or other external resource.

This marks additional non-critical information that may save you some trouble and/or enhance your experience of the simulation.

This is important information. Ignoring it may result in malfunctions and degraded performance of the aircraft.

This is an even more important message. If you ignore it you risk crashing the aircraft.
